Mission Statement

The Indie Author Community was set up to give information to Indie authors in a supportive, interesting, and most of all, honest and in many cases, neutral way.  We (the team) feel that there’s a set of diverse voices in the Indie Community that deserve to be heard, and those voices should be heard.

Initially formed by a core team from the Facebook group, ‘The Indie Author Group‘,  the IAC is designed to bust myths, talk writing and give people a real, honest view on the community, from the perspective of both experience and understanding.  None of our staff, currently, are entirely new writers, and between us, we represent a gammut of publishing experience that can give people the skinny on what they need to know.

Publishing isn’t easy – but self publishing and the Kindle/Smashwords revolution have given people the ability to share thier story with more ease than ever, but it’s still important to understand that it’s not *easy*, and that millions can’t be made simply by publishing your writings.  But, if you do it right, and get the right information behind you, you’ll find that it becomes easier.  And that’s what we’re here for.

Our blog is invite only (and syndicated from selected other blog projects, such as Self Publishing Step by Step (SpSbS), Advertisingforauthors (which, in itself is a syndicated blog) and other selected sources.  If you’d like to guest blog with us, please be aware that we have very stringent guidelines, and are not currently accepting unsolicited requests, via comment.
